A quick search on Google defines a “Staycation” as:
1: A vacation that is spent at one’s home enjoying all that home and one’s home environs have to offer.
2: A vacation spent close to home.
With the price of gas soaring, a staycation is what most Americans will experience during the summer of 2008. Midweek recently ran an article about local staycations. Here in Hawai’i we’re ahead of the rest of the country in that in live in the #1 vacation destination in the world. Now is a great time to support local economy, while also saving a lot of money. Besides, why should tourists have all the fun!
